Stone Map Adventures – Series Overview
Stone Map Adventures is a three-book adventure series in the StoryBridge Method™ collection that blends archaeology, mystery, and discovery while gradually introducing English vocabulary through story. Written at approximately a 5th-grade reading level and designed for learners progressing from Pre-A1 to A1 CEFR, the series follows Luci and Tomas as they uncover clues hidden in ancient sites around the world. Each book reveals a fragment of a mysterious stone map aligned with the stars, suggesting that ancient civilizations may have shared knowledge of the sky across continents. As the children piece together the clues, they must also navigate skeptical and competitive researchers who question their ideas and race to publish the discoveries first.
Book 1 — Stone Map Adventures: The Temple of the Hidden Pattern
Location: Mayan temple in MexicoWhile visiting an archaeological dig with their mother, Luci and Tomas discover a hidden chamber containing a carved stone disk marked with star patterns. As they investigate the temple’s architecture, they realize the carvings may encode astronomical knowledge. Their discovery reveals the first fragment of a much larger map pointing to another ancient site.
Book 2 — Stone Map Adventures: The Secret of the Sun Gate
Location: Machu Picchu, PeruFollowing the clues from the Mayan temple, the family travels to the Andes. At Machu Picchu, the children uncover a light-activated mechanism near the Sun Gate that reveals a second stone map fragment. As rival researchers attempt to dismiss their ideas and claim the discovery themselves, the children begin to suspect that ancient cultures across the world were tracking the same celestial patterns.
Book 3 — Stone Map Adventures: The Stones That Watch the Sky
Location: Göbekli Tepe, TurkeyThe final clues lead to the world’s oldest monumental stone complex. Here, massive carved pillars appear to function as a giant sky calendar. As the competing researchers close in on the discovery, Luci and Tomas must solve the final puzzle hidden within the stones. When the three map fragments are combined, they reveal a global system of ancient astronomy connecting civilizations across thousands of years.
